What is Illustrator?
Illustrator is a product made by Adobe. It allows you to create a custom workspace that will fit your dimensions. You can create images that can be interpreted by the laser cutter or vinyl cutter. The laser cutter reads in color, that is why we use the RGB colors to designate what is engraved or cut out. Illustrator can also be used to create custom images that are colored, custom logos and more!
My file in Illustrator
This is the first step in the process. Next I will put this in the Laser printer UCP and print.
Next, I put it in the printers UCP (on the left). Then it printed (on the right).

Vinyl Name Decal
I was absent the week of the vinyl name cut out but Ms. Proctor printed it for me. I understand how the printer works and watched the video on Schoology. I will use it again for my individual decal rotation to further my knowledge on the vinyl cutter.
What I Learned in Illustrator
I learned how to use Adobe illustrator and the laser printer. I learned to choose the correct settings (RGB color settings) for the print. Then I learned that red and .0001 stroke will cut while any black or grey will engrave in vinyl. I learned to import images with copy and paste (I used simple black and white images for my first time). For the vinyl, I watched the video in Schoology to learn how to use it and will learn more about it during the vinyl decal design rotation.
